PRRs, also known as Public Records Requests or Requests for Public Records

A section of the California Government Code known as the Public Records Act allows for anyone to request public records.  You do not have to disclose your reason for wanting the information, but you do need to be prepared to pay for copies.  Truth Matters, Chico will be requesting records from the City of Chico so that we — and our readers — can get the information straight from the source.

The City has a form that you can use to request public records, or you can simply e-mail or deliver a written request.

Want to submit your own request?  Here’s a link to a form provided by the City, which we have modified to allow you to complete it online:

Public Records Request_TMC

Fill it out, and deliver it to 411 Main Street in Chico, or mail it to City of Chico, PO Box 3420, Chico CA 95927.
